More than 100 golfers tee up for Balfour Beatty Communities Foundation ‘Swing 4 Scholarships’ golf tournament
The 12th annual Balfour Beatty Communities Foundation “Swing 4 Scholarships” fundraiser golf tournament was hosted on May 15. More than 100 golfers and event attendees gathered to the award-winning Blackwolf Run Golf Course in Kohler, WI to participate in the Foundation’s main charity event of the year.
The yearly event is the primary supporter of the Foundation’s scholarship program that provides academic scholarships to residents who live at housing communities Balfour Beatty Communities owns and manages throughout the country. In 2019, 65 recipients were awarded scholarships to support their post-secondary educational goals.
In addition to the scholarship program, Balfour Beatty Communities’ non-profit 501 (c)(3) charitable organization also donates to causes and organizations that align with the Company’s mission. On the heels of Hurricane Michael in late 2018, the Foundation donated $25,000 to the Air Force Aid Society to support families at Tyndall Air Force Base who lost their belongings during the natural disaster.
Major sponsors of the tournament included AmWINS Insurance Wholesalers, GT Construction, Land Services USA, F&F Construction, Mainscape, and Responsive Disaster Recovery.
